RemoteDB Gateway

Our flagship product, RemoteDB Gateway, provides access to ODBC data sources from remote Windows and Java applications. Remote Windows applications utilize the RemoteDB Gateway ODBC driver to communicate with the RemoteDB Gateway Server over a TCP/IP network. Remote Java applications or applets utilize the RemoteDB Gateway JDBC driver to communicate with the server.

The server provides access to the full array of ODBC data sources that have been configured on the server machine. With this architecture, it makes it possible to access flat-file databases (e.g., Access, dBase, Btrieve, etc.) in a true client/server environment. This dramatically improves network performance by eliminating file sharing and having the server execute lengthy queries on a client's behalf.
